GeneLink Launches Dermagenetics® to Spa Industry and Appoints Dr.
Robert Keller to its Medical Advisory Board
October 7, 2004
MARGATE, NJ, October 7, 2004 – GeneLink BioSciences, Inc. (OTCBB:GNLK) the
genetic biosciences company announced it has entered into an agreement
with Robert P.K. Keller, M.D. to help launch its Dermagenetics® system
of tests and products to the spa industry and to serve on GeneLink’s
Medical Advisory Board. Dr. Keller is Founder and Medical Director of
The Keller Skin & Body Institute, as well as Chief Medical Officer
for Pebble Beach Resorts. He will coordinate the promotion of GeneLink’s
Dermagenetics® technologies – a proprietary system of genetic
tests that enables customized anti-wrinkle and skin-care formulations.
Dr. Keller began his distinguished career in medicine over 30 years ago
and has been a respected member of the Monterey Peninsula medical community
for 21 years. Residency trained as a trauma physician and surgeon, he
began repairing damaged skin in the late 1970’s. Wanting to become
more proactive in skin repair, he took post-doctorate studies in cosmetic
and anti-aging medicine and trained with some of the world’s most
renowned physicians. A former nationally syndicated television medical
news commentator, Dr. Keller has lectured internationally and is listed
in the 2001 National Registry of Who’s Who. His patient list includes
many of the most celebrated names in sports, entertainment and business.
“As one of the first medispas in the country, the Keller Skin & Body
Institute at Pebble Beach Resorts has experience with customized retail
products,” says Dr. Keller. “But when the Resorts’ Board
of directors includes Clint Eastwood, Arnold Palmer, Peter Uberov and
Dick Ferris, you can’t afford to make mistakes.” He adds, “After
researching Dermagenetics®, we brought the system to our Institute
and it has been an instant success. By introducing Dermagenetics® to
our clients we have continued to distinguish our spa as a leader in new
treatments. This in turn has lead to increased revenue streams and profitability.
The only question remaining is ‘what’s next’ from GeneLink?”
John R. DePhillipo, GeneLink Chairman says, “We are excited and
proud to welcome such a dignified member of the medical community to our
team; his experience and expertise will play an important role in our
plans to market our genetic tests and matching skin-care products to the
international spa industry.” DePhillipo adds, “With more than
a decade of 15% annual growth and 2003 total revenues exceeding $11.1
billion, medical and day spas represent the 4th largest leisure industry
in the U.S. – GeneLink’s Dermagenetics® products promise
to be the next generation profit center for this fast growing industry.”
GeneLink has developed a proprietary method for "genetic profiling" (patents
pending) and is licensing this breakthrough technology to companies that
market or manufacture products for the $100 billion plus nutritional supplement,
skin care and wellness industries.
